# Laurent Schaffner, Founder and software engineer at Linkbreakers

> Founder and software engineer at Linkbreakers, with more than 15 years building SaaS products, most of them on back-end architecture.

Laurent Schaffner founded Linkbreakers and builds it. He designed the platform that runs after a QR code is scanned or a link is clicked: the workflows, the tracking, and the integrations that send each visit to Slack, Google Analytics, Make, Zapier or a webhook. The help center articles signed with his name explain the features he built.

## What he works on at Linkbreakers

* The Go API, built on gRPC, that answers every scan and click.
* The web app where teams create links, design QR codes and build workflows.
* The tools developers and AI agents use: the [REST API](https://linkbreakers.com/help/api), SDKs in TypeScript, Python, Go, Java and Rust, the [command-line interface](https://linkbreakers.com/cli) and the [MCP server](https://linkbreakers.com/mcp).

## Before Linkbreakers

* **Livestorm**, Paris, 2018 to 2025: Head of Back-end Development at the webinar platform, where he reworked the architecture and infrastructure to handle ten times more traffic in under a year.
* **DigPanda**, Munich, 2016 to 2018: Lead Full Stack Engineer on a marketplace between Germany and China, rebuilding its front end and setting up its testing and deployment.
* **Virtual Safety and Gotham Partners**, Baton Rouge, 2014 to 2016: lead back-end developer on three Ruby on Rails SaaS applications.
* Before that, freelance web development from 2003, and two companies of his own in Bordeaux and Arcachon.

## What he works with

Go, gRPC and Kafka today; Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Elixir and PHP before. His open source work on GitHub includes [rails\_async\_migrations](https://github.com/Loschcode/rails%5Fasync%5Fmigrations), which runs ActiveRecord migrations asynchronously, [vue-mixpanel](https://github.com/Loschcode/vue-mixpanel), and [grpc-mcp-gateway](https://github.com/Loschcode/grpc-mcp-gateway), which serves gRPC services as an MCP server and powers the Linkbreakers MCP server.
