# Edit many links at once

> Add the same condition to the workflows of up to 50 links, or give their pages the same theme, in one call from the Assistant, the MCP server or the API. Links that differ go in the same call as overrides.

## Short answer

You can now change many links in one go. Ask the Assistant, or call one tool from an MCP client or one endpoint of the API, to put the same step into the workflows of up to 50 links, or to give their pages the same theme. Each link succeeds or fails on its own, and links that need something different go in the same call.

## What we shipped

### One change, many links

Two new operations, available in the Assistant, on the MCP server and over REST:

- **Insert a step on every link** (`workflow_steps_bulk_insert`, `POST /v1/workflow-steps/bulk-insert`): the same condition or step goes into each link's workflow, right after its entry. Branches you name get their new destination; everyone else keeps going where the link went before.
- **Set a page theme on every link** (`page_themes_bulk_update`, `POST /v1/page-themes/bulk-update`): a template by its slug, your own values, or a template adjusted with your values.

Before, a request such as "send French phones to the French menu on all eleven of our table links, then give them the autumn theme" took one call per link per change, and the Assistant had to stop and ask you to continue. It now takes two calls: one for the condition, one for the theme.

### Links that differ, in the same call

The simple form is a list of links and one change. When a few links need something else, such as a different destination on one branch or another theme, name them as overrides in the same call. You do not need a second request.

### Links named the way you know them

Name each link by its id or by its short link, such as `spring-menu` or `https://go.acme.com/summer-sale`.

### A result for every link

The answer lists every link with its own outcome. A link that could not be changed says why, and the others are still changed. A call that runs out of time marks the links it did not reach so you can send them again.

## Frequently asked questions

### How many links can one call change?

Up to 50. Split a larger set into several calls.

### Does the Assistant use it on its own?

Yes. Ask for the change in your own words, for example "add a language condition to all my menu links". The Assistant has both operations and is told to use them whenever a change applies to several links.

### What happens to a canvas I arranged by hand?

A link that receives a new step has its canvas laid out again automatically, so a hand-made arrangement on that link is reset. Setting a page theme does not touch the canvas.

### Can I undo a bulk insert?

Each inserted step is an ordinary step. Delete it from the link's workflow like any other. Sending the same insert twice adds a second step, so check the results before retrying.
