# Retargeting pixels on selected links

> New: fire each retargeting pixel on every link, or only on the links, directories and tags you choose. Links no pixel fires on keep their instant redirect. On every plan, and from the API, the MCP server and the Assistant.

## Short answer

Each retargeting pixel can now fire on every link of the workspace, as before, or only on the links you select. Open the pixel's page under **Integrations > Retargeting pixels**, choose **Selected links** under **Where it fires**, and add links, directories or tags. You can choose before connecting the pixel, with its ID, or any time after. Visits to links no pixel fires on redirect instantly, without the brief page a pixel needs.

It works for all five pixels (Meta Pixel, Google tag, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag and Google Tag Manager), on every plan, Free included. Pixels you already set keep firing on every link until you change them.

## What we shipped

### Where it fires

Each pixel's page has a **Where it fires** choice, next to the ID before you connect the pixel and in its own section once it is connected. It has two options:

- **All links**: every link and QR code of the workspace, including the ones you create later. This is the default
- **Selected links**: only the links, directories and tags you add

A directory includes its sub-directories and the links added to it later, and a tag includes every link carrying it, so a campaign's new QR codes join the pixel without another visit to its page.

### See it from the link

Each link's QR code panel in the workflow editor lists the pixels that fire on it, so you can check a QR code before it goes to print.

### Built for agents too

The `scopes` field on `retargeting_pixels_update` (MCP, Assistant) and `PUT /v1/retargeting-pixels` (REST) sets where each pixel fires, with `RETARGETING_PIXEL_SCOPE_TYPE_SELECTED_LINKS` and `linkIds`, `directoryIds` or `tagIds`. `retargeting_pixels_list_for_link`, or `GET /v1/retargeting-pixels/links/{linkId}`, lists the pixels that fire on one link.

> Fire my Meta pixel only on the links in my Trade show directory, and tell me which pixels fire on my Booth sign link.

## Who it helps

- **Agencies and brands with several campaigns** that want one audience per campaign without filtering on URLs in the ad platform
- **Anyone who wants instant redirects on most links** and a pixel only where retargeting pays, such as packaging or event signage

## Limits and caveats

- One ID per pixel type and workspace: two different Meta Pixels need two workspaces
- A deleted link leaves the selection; if every selected link is deleted, the pixel fires on no link until you choose again
- The short delay still applies to the links a pixel fires on, usually well under a second and never longer than 1.2 seconds

## Frequently asked questions

### Do my existing pixels change?

No. A pixel set before today has no selection, so it keeps firing on every link and QR code of the workspace.

### Can I add a pixel to one link and not the others?

Yes. On the pixel's page, choose Selected links under Where it fires and pick the links, directories or tags it should fire on. It fires on every link by default.

### Is it on the Free plan?

Yes. Retargeting pixels and their selection are available on every plan.
