Putting a code on a pack.

What should a QR code on product packaging actually do?
The useful ones do more than open a website: a short feedback form, a product registration, usage instructions or a reorder link. The point is to get something back, not only to send someone somewhere.
Can I change it after the packaging is printed?
Yes, with a dynamic code. The printed image stays the same and the destination behind it is yours to edit forever. See dynamic versus static.
Can I use a different code per SKU?
Yes, and you should. Bulk create one per product, batch or market so each reports separately instead of one blended number.
Do people actually scan packaging?
They do when there is a reason on the pack. "Scan for recipes" or "tell us what you think" works; a bare code with no promise does not.
What data do I get?
Scans by place, device and time, repeat scanners, plus whatever the person chose to tell you. See QR code analytics.
Is it GDPR compliant?
