FAQ

Thanks for using our QR Code Generator!

Here is a list of common questions you may have...

Advanced Features

How does scannability detection work?
Our generator includes real-time scannability analysis. As you customize your QR code, we automatically scan it using the same algorithms found in smartphone cameras. If your design choices (like low contrast colors, complex patterns, or oversized logos) make the code difficult to read, you'll see a warning immediately — before you print or publish.
What color modes are available?
You can choose between three color modes for dots, corners, and background: Solid applies a single uniform color. Linear gradient creates a smooth transition between colors along a straight line — you can adjust the angle and add multiple color stops. Radial gradient creates a circular color transition from the center outward, perfect for creating depth and visual interest.
What dot shapes can I use?
We offer 10 unique dot styles to match your brand:
  • Square — Classic, sharp-edged modules for a traditional look
  • Rounded — Softened corners for a modern, friendly appearance
  • Extra Rounded — Fully circular dots for a playful, contemporary style
  • Dots — Small circular points with spacing between them
  • Classy — Elegant asymmetric shape with one rounded corner
  • Classy Rounded — Smooth organic shape for a sophisticated look
  • Bubbly Dots — Varied-size circles for a dynamic, organic feel
  • Hexagon — Six-sided geometric pattern for a tech-forward aesthetic
  • Octagon — Eight-sided modules for a unique geometric style
  • Circuit Chip — Tech-inspired pattern resembling microchip traces
What corner styles are available?
The three corner markers (finder patterns) can be customized separately from the dots. For the outer corner squares, choose from: Square, Rounded, or Extra Rounded. For the inner corner dots, select either Square or Dot. Mixing different styles creates unique visual effects while maintaining scannability.
Can I add a logo to my QR code?
Yes. Upload any image to place it in the center of your QR code. You can adjust the logo size (as a percentage of the QR code) and margin around it. The generator uses error correction to ensure the code remains scannable even with a logo overlay. For best results, keep logo size under 30% and use our scannability checker to verify.
What output formats and sizes are supported?
Export your QR code in PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG format. PNG and WebP support transparency. SVG provides infinite scalability for print. Choose from preset sizes (256px to 2048px) or set a custom dimension. Higher error correction levels (L, M, Q, H) add redundancy — H can recover from up to 30% damage but creates denser codes.

What is Canva?

Canva is a design platform that enables users to create stunning visuals, including graphics, presentations, social media posts, and more. It offers drag-and-drop functionality and a wide range of templates.

Canva is popular among businesses, educators, and individuals for its user-friendly design tools.

How does Canva benefit users?

Canva simplifies the design process, allowing users with no prior experience to create professional-looking visuals. It provides access to stock images, fonts, and customizable templates.

It’s an essential tool for marketing, branding, and content creation.

What are the benefits of using a QR Code generator for Canva links?

A QR Code generator for Canva links makes it easy to share your designs and templates. Scanning the code takes users directly to your Canva project.

This is especially useful for presentations, collaborative projects, or including design links in printed materials.

How do I create a QR code in Canva?

Creating a QR code in Canva is a straightforward process that can enhance your designs by linking them to URLs, contact information, or other digital content. To create a QR code using Canva, first, log into your Canva account or sign up if you don’t have one. Once you're in the Canva editor, start by opening an existing design or creating a new one. On the left side panel, click on the "More" option to access additional features and integrations. In the search bar, type "QR Code" and select the QR Code generator from the list of available apps. Next, a QR code generator box will appear on your design workspace. Here, you can enter the URL or text you want your QR code to link to. After inputting the desired information, click on the “Generate” or “Create QR Code” button. Canva will automatically produce a QR code, which you can resize and position anywhere within your design. Keep in mind that Canva’s QR codes are static. This means once you create them, you cannot edit the content they link to, and they do not support tracking or analytics. For dynamic QR codes with tracking capabilities, you might need to use a specialized QR code service. However, for simple and quick applications, Canva's QR code generator is a convenient tool that is integrated directly into your design process, allowing you to add functional and interactive elements seamlessly.

What are the limitations of the Canva QR code?

The limitations of the Canva QR code primarily revolve around customization and functionality constraints. While Canva offers an easy-to-use platform for generating QR codes, it lacks some advanced features that specialized QR code generators provide. For example, Canva QR codes are typically static, meaning once the QR code is generated, its destination URL cannot be changed. This can be limiting if you need to update the link after distributing the QR code. Additionally, Canva's customization options for QR codes are somewhat basic, focusing primarily on color changes and simple design tweaks. This might not suffice for users who require more comprehensive branding options, such as adding logos or intricate design elements. Moreover, Canva QR codes do not offer robust tracking capabilities. Unlike some dedicated QR code platforms, Canva does not provide analytics on how often or where your QR code is being scanned. This lack of data can hinder marketing efforts that rely on precise engagement metrics. Finally, while Canva is a powerful design tool, it is not specifically optimized for QR code creation, meaning users may encounter limitations in terms of output quality or compatibility with certain printing requirements. Overall, while Canva's QR code generator is ideal for simple, quick designs, it may not meet the needs of users looking for advanced features or dynamic capabilities.

How much does Canva dynamic QR code cost?

Canva offers both free and paid options for creating QR codes, including dynamic ones. If you are using Canva's free version, you can generate static QR codes at no cost. However, for dynamic QR codes, which allow you to change the URL destination even after the code is printed, you might need access to Canva's Pro or Enterprise subscriptions. These subscriptions offer enhanced design tools and features, including more customization options for QR codes. As of my last update, Canva Pro costs $12.95 per month when billed monthly, or $9.95 per month when billed annually. Canva Enterprise pricing is available upon request and typically suits larger teams. It's important to check Canva's latest pricing on their official website as rates and features can change over time.
