Are scans unlimited on Linkbreakers?

Short answer

Yes, scans are unlimited: no plan ever stops a QR code or link from working, however many people scan it, and Linkbreakers records every visit. What each plan limits is how many tracked journeys you can see each month. Free includes 500 journeys a month, Light 5,000 and Pro 50,000. Past that, visitors are still redirected, your workflows still run and the visits are still recorded, but they are locked: hidden from your analytics and not sent to your integrations until you upgrade. Upgrading reveals every locked visit. Enterprise has no monthly cap.

Scans versus tracked journeys

A scan is someone pointing a camera at your QR code, or opening your short link. Linkbreakers answers every one of them: the visitor is sent to the destination, through any workflow steps you set up, such as forms, conditions or a contact card.

A tracked journey is that visit as it appears in your analytics: when and where it happened, the device, and every step the visitor went through until the last redirection. This is what your plan counts. See What is an event in Linkbreakers for what a journey contains.

What happens when the month's journeys are used up

• Your QR codes and links keep working. Nobody scanning them sees an error or a different page.
• Workflows keep running: forms still collect answers and conditions still route visitors.
• Every visit is still recorded. The ones past the allowance are locked: they are hidden from your analytics, visitors, exports, the API and the Assistant, and they are not sent to webhooks, Slack or other integrations.
• New visits are visible again when the allowance refills, on the first day of next month at midnight in your workspace timezone. Visits locked earlier stay locked until you upgrade.
• The dashboard tells you the limit is reached, how many visits are waiting, and which plan raises it.

To see the locked visits, upgrade: every visit locked under your previous plan becomes visible as soon as the subscription is confirmed. Integrations only receive visits from then on; locked visits are never resent to them. See What happens when you reach your Linkbreakers plan limits.

Other limits are separate

Tracked journeys are only one of the limits a plan sets. Creating links and using AI features spends platform credits, the public API has its own monthly allowance, and custom domains, team members and webhooks are totals. Scanning a QR code never spends credits or API calls. The pricing page lists every limit by plan.

Enterprise

Enterprise has no monthly cap on tracked journeys or the other usage limits. It is billed on what you use rather than a fixed allowance, and pricing is agreed with our team: contact [email protected].

Do QR code scans count toward any limit?

Scans themselves are never limited. Each visit counts toward your plan's monthly tracked journeys, and once those are used up, visits keep working and are still recorded, but they are locked until you upgrade.

What happens if my QR code goes viral?

Every visitor is still redirected and every visit is recorded. If the month's tracked journeys run out, the visits after that are locked: you see how many there are, and upgrading reveals all of them immediately.

Will I be charged extra for a lot of scans?

Not on Free, Light or Pro: there are no overage charges. Enterprise is billed on usage, at a price agreed with sales.

Does reading scan data through the API count as scans?

No. Reading analytics through the Linkbreakers API counts toward your monthly public API calls, not toward tracked journeys.

When does the tracked journeys allowance reset?

On the first day of each month at midnight in your workspace timezone.
